Wtf? LOL I just don't get it.. The only conclusion that I can draw is that they're ****ing dudes at bars in their vehicles, a lot. Seems like that is stuff they wouldn't want to forget about, especially taking it in to have looked at. Hell, maybe they were just hitting on you. I gotta tell my g/f about this, maybe she can provide some better insight.

oh ya, we found a 36 pack of condoms and a box of rough riders in a girls Kia at the last shop I was at. She wasn't bad lookin judging by some of the pictures we found too.

The best is when you need to get a Paintcode on a GM, or even a VW/Audi (in the trunk)..and the cars trunk is FILLED to the brim with shit. Had to clean out the trunk on a Grand Am once to get the paintcode, and found a box of pornos! I just don't get how people can fill their trunks with crap and forget about it like that.

I've had many through the years, I can't think of a good one though.

I fairly mechanically inclined friend brought a car to the first exhaust shop that I worked at. A Porsche 928, Dohc 5.0. He said "the converter is broke, remove it". I put the car in the air and inspected it. The converter was not bad. I let the car down and opened the hood. The air cleaner was packed solid with a mouse house, The air filter had a hole chewed through it, the mass air flow sensor was the only thing that kept the motor from inhaling the mess!!

I worked on an old Chevy truck the other day, I found out that the gas runs out at 1/4 tank. I put 1 1/2 gallons in it and fixed the snowplow system. The customer came and picked up the vehicle. A few minutes later they called and said the truck quit while driving down the road. I was in the middle of changing an engine so, they sent the other two techs w/5 gallons of gas. The techs came back with the truck in tow. "it is not out of gas" they argued "it has 1/4 tank!" I put another 1 1/2 gallons in it and started it.

Some times it is fun to be surrounded by idiots, It makes you seem smarter than you are, Other times it is just plain annoying!

This is one that I received last night:

(This is copied exactly, with grammar and spelling mistakes)

"The knob is supposed to attached to the screw and adjust to fit another peice"

Wait, WHAT???

To figure this out, I had to download the manual from the Company website (This is for a deli-type meat slicer) and go through the proper procedures to figure it out.

I had to rewrite this to:

"Threaded stud on remnant holder plate broken off in clamp handle"

and sent it to Buffalo

In the end, this whole thing got sent back to me to fix 2 hours later.

You wouldnt believe the sh!t people leave in rental cars. Ive worked at Hertz rent a car for about a year and 3 months and have seen some wicked crap. used tampons, used condoms, brown streak underwear, a couple whips, panties, white leather chaps with brown whipmarks, too much for my no longer virgin eyes! But on the plus side i find a little cash here and there, knives, bear spray, a machete?, JERKY, beverages of many kinds, and pot, but i dont smoke so i sell it to the Alamo/National washbay employees.

And I complain that the air coming from the heat vents in my truck smells like hot mud..

In my auto shop class last year, there was a Civic that came in for a brake check.

It had those locking/ special lugs nuts, so we looked in the glove box for the "key". Didn't find it. So we looked in wiht the spare tire under the mat in the trunk. We didn't find the key, or the tire for that matter, the whole tire depression (or what ever you want to call that) was packed full of beer. Interesting thing to find in a student's car, on school grounds, haha. But I'm sure alot more people have similar things in thier cars at school everyday.

Me and the other guy working on it figured at least they found a decent spot for it. We didn't see any point in telling anybody.

another time we had a guy come in with a pickup truck complaining of a loud rattle from the back of the truck. turns out he had a lose fitting trailer hitch that bounced around.

Default Women drivers...

A women drives into the Beemer shop I worked in in Emeryville Ca. in her 320I and reported she had run over something the night before and the oil light came.

She continued to drive home that night (short drive) and drove to our shop the next morning (short drive).

I put the car on the rack to find... the front of the cast aluminum oil pan was gone as well as the oil pump ...

I pulled the rod and main caps to inspect and found no damage at all to the crank or bearings.
