My ranger is leaking trans fluid, I think from the input shaft seal. Until I can fix it, I need to keep it topped off. When looking for oil I found all kinds of stuff about the new gear lines and brass synchronizers. I think the TK4 has brass synchros, thus I need a GL4 gear oil. I can’t find the stuff anywhere. Best I’ve seen is a mention on the back of a bottle of supertech oil about corrosion protection. I can’t remember if it mentioned yellow metals specifically. Has anyone else run into this with the TK transmissions?

My credo
If you can’t fix it with a hammer, you have an electrical problem
The best to use other than Motorcraft that I have found is this Valveoline MTF.

Thanks! I'll look around for that. I did find some Pennzoil Synchromesh fluid but it was designated GL-3 and just seemed thin in the bottle. I also stopped by walmart this morning to check their gear oil out and the conventional 80-90 does say it prevents corrosion of copper and bronze bushings, but notes that it's for limited slip diffs. I've read that's bad for synchronizers as well.
