Got in my 94 single cab the other morning and took off and when I turned my driver door flew open.and hasn’t latched since. The cable is still good and the bar is still connected

Does the door shut completely? There is a little fork that rotates to latch the door shut. That fork can rotate preventing to door from latching, but it also keeps the door from shutting completely. Stick a screw drive in to the fork part of the door latch, open the handle and push out on the fork (like you are opening the door). Should fix it if that's the problem. Otherwise, like Dirtman said in the other post, Latch is Broke

If your weather has been as wacky as ours you might check the latch mechanism for ice accumulation. Both my truck and my wife's car had doors that didn't want to shut after our blizzard yesterday.

If what 85_Ranger4X4 said turns out to be your problem. Try defrosting it with a heat gun or a hair dryer and spray the latch down with some white lithium grease. I seem to never had any problems after I started using that every fall. It's amazing how resilient ice can be and get rid of in those tight areas like the door latch.

Doing things wrong, until I get it right.
Better to go to the JY, than to wait on them to call you back. Your door latch is not on their priority list

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
I hope your truck is an automatic. Otherwise, it would be quite a chore to go around a corner shifting gears, adjusting the radio, taking a sip of coffee, texting AND holding the door shut. :fie:
