Has anyone removed the rear tank on a 97 F250 Crewcab? or any other F150 with the dual tanks? I cannot get My tank out, The fuel lines going to the pump will not come undone Cause there is a cross brace in the frame and the space between that is 2 inchies not enough to get your hand in. I need the tank out to fix the leak in tank. Thanks for any help

you need to remove the filler neck hose from the tank. lower the tank down as much as possible and then you should be able to reach the fuel lines

It doesn't look like I have enough fuel line to drop the tank 6 inchies? How do you get into the frame to remove filler neck from tank? also it looks like the tank is as wide if not wider than frame rails. So do I need to angle it if I can ever get it to drop so far it has moved maybe two inchies witch does nothing to help me.

I have both braces off and un did filler neck at the spot between bed side and frame.

you'll have to find some slack in the fuel lines, mostly what i do is lower one side down like you have to do to get it between the frame rails, then reach up and disconnect the fuel lines. then i'll usually just lower that side enough to remove the fuel pump module while the tank is hanging in the truck.

Thanks it was not fun I bought a new tank and got it installed last night There is a little tab on passenger side I had to bend to clear frame

I was not going to fight it again buy patching the rust so 100 bucks was a decent price for Orielly's

Thanks again for the help and talk about just enough slack to get in there didn't help to have the monster reese hitch in the way.
