Let me be the first to welcome all to the new Spanish forum.

Guess I'm going to have to learn the language if I'm going to participate :icon_surprised: .

The first sentence I translated as "It's no problem." The second one I had to go to google and found a spanish translation site. They gave me this "We can teach you the Spanish." I'll definitely be keeping an eye on the forum and trying to learn the language. Of course the spoken side will not sound right, I mangle English words all the time, I expect Spanish to be worse...

Is there a community College nearby? A couple of semesters there would be a great start.

Probably, but this is just a whim. I'll do what I can to learn from the other posts. Because it's Ranger related I'm more likely to keep at it. I know no one that speaks spanish and I don't believe we have any spanish community here. Edit; we probably do have but I'm not aware of it.

That's about as good a translation as any. Computerized translations always come out a bit rough because Spanish uses definite articles in places that English doesn't, but the computer will use every word.

I have also found that I had far more trouble learning to read and write in Spanish than I did learning to speak it. I think it is because their word orders and sentence structures are a little backwards. For example in English I would say "I have a black truck" in Spanish it would be "Yo tengo un camion negro" or "I have a truck black". And then because they have a different verb conjugation for every personal pronoun (I/you/he/they/we) it is grammatically acceptable to leave the pronoun off the sentence, because the verb lets you know who it refers to, so "Tengo un camion negro" is equally correct.

I can barely understand a word spoken to me in the language, but I have that problem with English too. I attribute it to lack of annunciation.

The easiest way to get past that is 100% immersion for a couple of weeks. After four years of Spanish in high school, I did a summer trip to Bolivia. The first week was totally overwhelming, but midway through the second week my brain began to adapt to what it was processing. By the time I'd gotten back, there were drastic improvements in my ability to comprehend normal conversational Spanish.

Si quieres hablar español, podemos hacerlo. El problema es que el OP hablaba de aprenderlo, y por eso debemos seguir en ingles hasta el punto que el nos puede entender.

Se escribe 'LOL' en español también porque es común usar frases así en el internet. Es una forma de spanglish. Se puede escribir 'jiji' o 'jaja' también.
