Transmission Swap Auto to 5speed

i have a 1994 ranger 4.0 4wd with the A4LD. Im swapping in a 1988 5speed in it and was wondering if someone could tell me if i have to change the crank at all or even give me step by step directions and a list of what i need. thanks.

No, the crank is the same.

The flywheel is very different. So is the starter. Obviously, you'll need all the clutch parts. Not so obviously, you'll need a brake pedal and a "hump plate."

Not all 1988 5speeds will fit a 4.0L. Only those from 2.9Ls.
