Right off the bat is a Jeep so it will be unreliable and expensive.

Wheelbase is an 1" shorter than my standard cab shortbox F-150, not really much shorter than a new F-150.

People wanting a reliable or cheaper truck are out of luck just like the guys wanting a truck for trails.
i think it will be ok. its the price point of the jeep that will matter most.

i hope the bronco is solid for reliability...these systems are well run r.o.w...

i rode on the plane with the guy in charge of this a few times coming back from out west....he is a wheeler just like me or maybe more so...and he rides dirt bikes just like me. not as diy mechanical because obviously he dont have time for dumb shit...

so 12 or 15 years that i know of he has wanted this to happen....just wish it happened 2 years ago or three years from now....or ford just would have brought the t6 in and called it a f100 in 2012....or kept calling it a ranger or whatever.

with a diesel handshaker. then making a bad ass bronco by now would have been cake.

If they made a standard cab or supercab version they would have the world by the tail.

I think the Gladiators length will negate most if not all of the solid front axle benefits though.

It won't be much smaller than a std cab Superduty, only narrower.

I am sure you mean to say your 'regular cab mid-size box'. 3 sizes F150 beds. 5.5', 6.5', 8'. Regular cab only comes with midsize and longbed. Unless you have an older F150 Raptor.

I flubbered up my trucks.

My F-150 is an EXTENDED cab shortbox, Ranger is a standard cab.

Extended cab 5.5' bed ? There were a few of those 133" wheelbase trucks in 2001 and 2012 ? I think ?

Only a super crew has the 5’ bed and in this era that was the only bed you could get for a super crew.

Options for a super cab were 6’ and 8’, I have the short one.

Ford has never offered the 5' bed with anything other than a Supercrew. Until around 2006 it was the only bed offered on a Supercrew.

No I think it was around 2011 or 2012 you could get a supercab with 5.5' bed and not the Raptor.

Laat i read there was a possible reg cab in the works. But who knows if its just jeep guy rhetoric or truth.

:icon_confused: negate?

i think everything else negating solid axles fawked themselves.

think about this for a minute.

it only suffers boa....even with the long tail its par or better on departure.

it has superior approach angles. can get a winch with it or just bolt one to the stock unit.

of all of these machines...which one will easily accommodate 40 inch tires?

you throw a set of 40,s on the colorado...and use the lockers with a typical lift kit....good luck.

but 37's will be the rule. and 3 in spacers with those puts all the numbers good.

A Raptor with a similar wheelbase/turning radius and price that ships from the factory with 35's?

are the Jeep truck and Raptor in the same Price Range? IDK the projected cost of the Gladiator, but it must be loaded if it is even close to the 50k of the Raptor. Jeeps are some of the most basic stripped down vehicles you can buy for over 30k.

4dr Rubicon starts at $41, add LED lights, a hardtop (I went cheap and just got the black one), automatic, steel bumper and tow package to match basic stuff on a Raptor and you are at $50k. Raptor is $54k.

Pretty sure making the Rubi a truck will close the gap.

for trail work.

raptor wont even come close. very wide and dont like mud at all.

for wide open fields.... desert... and high speed shenanigans...raptor is king.

there is quite a bit of time before this is selling and to see where the bronco an ranger are with reality.

i will remain patient.
