1993 was a change over year for Rangers 1st year of 2nd generation
Ford changed the clutch quick connect fitting so I would get master/slave as a set to make sure they match
Also when a shop did my 1994 clutch they goofed up and reversed the O2 sensor plug-ins, when they dropped the exhaust pipes
(this can happen on any year since O2 plug-ins are "universal" for the most part)
Never had a CEL on this truck the whole time I owned it
Test drive was fine, then on the drive home the engine warmed up and O2s were used..............lol
Started running like crap, then CEL came on
Lean on one bank, Rich on the other??
Cold it ran perfect, and warmed up at idle or WOT(wide open) it ran fine, but not in between
Only 1 wire color difference between the two O2s, swapped connectors and all was well again
Shop said they would investigate the problem, and would have to charge me for it, because it would have to have been a previous issue, since it "couldn't" be related to changing the clutch out....................
I called them and told them what happened, seemed to fall on deaf ears, I don't think they believed me, but I was talking to front office guy not a mechanic
They did a good job on the clutch so no complaints there
