Hello all, I have a few questions about my '89 ranger with a swapped '91 3L engine and tranny. I'm only 16, so I've recently started towing a trailer with a mower on it around town trying to make some money. Here recently the 1-2 shift has become bad! It wants to hesitate to shift and get real high in the rmp's. I can feather the peddle to make it shift a little sooner but I know that doesn't solve the problem. It's gotten up almost to 5K before shifting to 2nd. It does this even when I'm not pulling anything. I tow in DRIVE until I get about 55-60 then I'll bump it up to OD to save a little gas. Everything else works just fine, ( shifts into gear correctly, no waiting for reverse) anything like that. I bought some Lucas Transmission slip today (supposed to stop slips and hard shifting) and I'm not sure if I can tell a difference yet. If anyone might know the problem or has some advice about what I can do to stop this, please feel free to help out. Thanks a lot!
