My transmission sounds and feels like it is slipping. If its cold it runs almost perfect but when it warms up, it slips out of 2nd and 3rd. Those two gears also have really hard shifts. Climbing a hill is a pain because it goes to 3rd or 4th. Not exactly sure whats going on. Any suggestions? I drive an 05 ranger fx4 5speed auto with a 4.0

In your other post you complain about something that sounds like brake noise.

Is there any possibility that your "brake noise" is actually transmission noise?

Have you checked any basic things on your transmission, such as fluid levels, fluid color/smell, etc? When was the last time you checked and changed your transmission fluid?

With the lack of information and testing that you have provided, it's very difficult for anyone else to give you any meaningful suggestions.

Im positive its not trans problems because the other noise came along at a different time. I have checked fluid and changed the fluid about 4 months ago. The issue was there before i changed the fluid, and still is. I have had the truck for a year now and its done the same thing since i bought it. I have taken it to trans shops and none of them know the issue. So i came here looking for help

So, what did you find when you checked the fluid? What have the shops checked, and what have they told you?

If you don't tell us everything you know about the problem, we can't help you very well. Don't make us fish for the information, or we'll give up and help the next guy instead.

Fluid was fine. Pink, smelt fine everything was good. I just thought well why not change it. Shops ive taken it to have told me to change the fuild and come back up there and thats what i did and both said said well we don’t know how to help your issue. They said just get a new tranny but id like to see if there is anything else i can do before doing that. The shops just drove it and said exactly what i put in the first post about this. “It may be slipping but we would have to take it apart to check”
