My credo
If it aint broke, give it more gas!
Been hearing a roar at speed in the drivtrain and I just figured axle bearing time. Got the cover off and the spider gears are looking pretty rough. Is there anybody that still makes/has spider gears for the 28 spline 8.8? I have not had any luck with this, and would rather not call a ford dealer...Thanks

You'll have to rebuild the Trac-Lok as well. I would suspect that if the spider gears are worn, the rest are worn to match, even though it may not be evident visually.

Buying a complete new LSD carrier would be the best route in this instance, in my opinion. By the time you buy a Trac-Lok rebuild kit, and find spiders gears, a new cross-bolt and pin, you'll be close to the cost of a complete LSD.

when driving in a straight line the spider gears are not turning on the cross shaft or against the side gears. they are rotating with the carrier housing and pushing the side gears, but not turning on the cross shaft.

did you try Motive Gear?
