2 years ago i opted to super pack my ls 8.8, worked awesome. i thought it still worked great, but upon torqueing my wheels to 100 ft lbs i noticed that the clutches were starting to slip with that wheel in the air. it used to not do this.

its been abused alot, still barks the tires on the pavement turning at every light, but i know its wearing out, i used the stock replacement kit, but my jegs kit did not come with a new spring. possibly my stock spring is worn out.

this time around im going to rough up the steel disks with an angle grinder, and most likely use the carbon kit.

does anyone have any experience with the carbon kit? i notice the carbon kits have material in 3 different sections, instead of like the stock kits where its all the way around. i assume that is for contact pressure.

aside from welding the carrier, buying a case locker, or setting up gears. this is my only option that i know of, and i honestly dont want to put very much into the 8.8 or d35, as i have my sights set on 1 tons.

My credo
it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
in the times and lands before drop in lockers...shredding these useless pieces of crap was what it was.

the problem with stacking the packs with larger tires and actual horsepower besides premature uselessness(20 k miles service life on an oem unit for noted bias) was destruction of the pack and then explosion of spiders once clutches exploded/ground out.

put the modifier in there and a fresh pack till you get the 1 tons in if its a must...but i would not waste one cent or put any effort towards it if one tons are on the menu..

one tons, as predicted.... are pretty cheap around me now thanks to the superduty explosion...and holy smosheeees....the parts availability just keeps getting better.

Around here I can get the coil spring 60 for roughly 400 and about the same for the rear. Just seems to depend on the deal. But I can for sure get them from the junkyard for under a grand together.
