I just finished doing the clutch job on my truck, I got the transmission and everything put together and all buttoned up, and now the shifter is stuck and the clutch pedal has no pressure. Is it possible that the slave cylinder I purchased was faulty from the factory? I wouldn't think the system needed to be bled again as all I did was remove the quick detach when I did the clutch. The shifter will not budge whatsoever and whether the car is on or off makes no difference.

Did you bleed it at all after replacing the slave?

My credo
Break it right the first time. Fix it better the next time.

I was under the impression that the slave I purchased was pre-bled. I'll bleed again and report back.

Pump the pedal about 25 times, then try bleeding it. Even the pre-bled ones need pumped up.

assuming, you took the shifter out, did you put it back properly? I know it's easy to go wrong on this...

I did take a peek inside to make sure it was in neutral, and I believe it is

I used a vacuum bleeder to bleed the truck from the reservoir today. 6 or 7 HUGE bubbles came out and I figured I would be good to go but the shifter still wont get in to gear. Ill try again tomorrow.

The two pins in the hole (lower ones) need to be centered and even.

You would have a hard time putting the shifter back in with the trans in gear. Not impossible, just difficult.

yep I double checked it today and the trans is in neutral. Now I just need to bleed the system well tomorrow and based on the progress I made today I think I should be good to go.

I don't know how it happens but it took me two tries to get the shifter stick into the transmission and it would not move. the third time was the charm and it shifted in all the gears

If I have to take the lower nub out, which I try to avoid, I am meticulous with not knocking it into gear while that is out, even though I know how to fix it.

Tuesday night I was taking the top off my parts trans so I could inspect the 2nd gear syncro and see which one I need, and I hit a fork knocking it into gear.
