My name is John. I’m posting from a small town outside Eugene, Oregon. I just picked up a ‘92 Ranger, 2WD, 2.3, 5-speed. Although this is my first Ranger it’s not my first Ford. I’ve had two E-150s, an F-150, and an E-350 before this. Between them, it was two 4.9s, a 351W, and a 460, all auto trans.
After replacing the basics on this truck, I noticed a bearing noise on the front right side and found rust and pitting when I took it apart. The rotors were thin enough to replace them without feeling too bad about it so rather than drive out the old races and drive new ones into the old rotors, I did it the easy way. Now I’m trying to chase down a weird electrical problem I’ve already posted about elsewhere.
I’m looking forward to engaging with an active community to keep this little 4-banger pickup on the road. It looks like it’s going to be a solid little truck for a long time.
Thanks in advance for all the help I’m sure to get on this forum.
Cheers
