I Duraspraked my 84 BII awhile back. I never had the time to get it running and its sat for a while. I went out yesterday to to set the dizzy to TDC and get everything ready to go. I cranked it over a few times and got fuel going to the carb and spark coming from the coil. But for some reason the coil is getting hot, by hot I mean it burned the sheet out of my hand when I touched it:bawling:. Why would it get so hot???? I am useing an Accel Super Stock Coil.

do you have the spark plug gap set too excessive? also if you spark them off into the air they get overloaded.

i have no experience with this coil, but i can say that coils will build up as high a voltage as required to jump a gap. the bigger the gap the more voltage the more heat

Spark plugs are Bosch Platinum+4, cant gap them. I have the coil wire from the coil to the dizzy cap. I guess I will have to try the stock coil and see if that gets hot. Ive never had a coil get hot on me.
