My truck has an open 8.8, got caught in an early winter slushy wet snow storm. omg zero traction! The 93 I sold had limited slip so even when not in 4wd drive it was great in snow.

Anyways...Haven't even gotten around to troubleshooting the electric shift motor, I think it's time to take it off and put a pair of what did y'all use? vice grips ?

Keep it in 4H until I get around getting it fixed. (I have manual hubs)

Yeah, vise grips work. Don't leave them on there, they can fall off.

In the 6 years I have owned it I never needed to put my B2 in 4x4 for more traction.

Yesterday I went to pull it into the garage to fix a brake line. I needed 4x4 to make it up the little slope to my garage door.

I was watching SEPTA buses lose traction and slide sideways yesterday it was bad! On the plus side I can say my little truck even without 4wd did get me home and ran a good 6 hours of road time without skipping a beat. It kept me warm and the defroster worked so I can't complain too much about one wheel spinning every time I tried to move. but now I know there is a very big difference between limited slip and open differentials,. I guess I'm spoiled a bit my AWD van was really really good in snow.

i was referring to 6 between tunk and towanda... thats a road i expect anything to go down...

nope....3-6 hr strandings if you did not have awd/4wd. i was surprised...

the back roads and lease roads otoh....not happening in the conditions present yesterday. 4wd chained up to move the snow where i was..we shut down for the night and called off our crews.

everything is passable now.
