I hope its utilitarian based at least. Hate for Ford to make a disaster like the Chevy SSR. Good lord was that thing awful.

If they put the 1L turbo 3cyl and a 6spd manual in it I'd drive it. FWD unibody pickup has been done before and it works for general purpose use.

I'm really into small FWD cars, and drove a 1500cc Accent GSi for 12 years before too many old ladies with cataracts drove into it. Mostly I'm driving alone to work, and it sure would be handy to have a truck bed in the back so I could stop for supplies on the way home. That's what I got the Ranger for, but on the first tank it got 15mpg - I will improve that but it will never be able to compete with what that thing could do.

The only reason I bought my ranger was the price. I got it brand new in 09 for 12 grand. I wanted a completely bare bones fleet truck and ford was the only company making a purely utilitarian cheap truck at the time except the Colorado which was waaaay more expensive. I hate the new ranger because even the base model is overpriced and full of crap that is unnecessary for a daily driving work truck. As ugly as the courier is I think it will sell since it fills that niche. I can see them driving around with napa hats on the roof in the future...

I know I make fun of FWD a lot, but I kinda like it. Also, you better believe that if a VW Rabbit pickup fell into my lap I'd drive the crap outta that thing.

I am a huge fan of the front wheel drive trucks from the 80s absolutely love my Dodge Ram pages but the problem they had were they were all only two-seaters with the exception of those weird seats in the back of the Subaru Brat.

I can fit a full-size 4 wheel drive ATV in the back of my Dodge Ram page and I can haul it down the highway and still managed over 30 miles to the gallon. But I cannot put me my wife and my two kids in it if Ford makes a 4 seat front wheel drive car bass pickup with a true bed like the Dodge Rampage I would be all over it. Bed needs to be a minimum of 5 feet long and 4 feet wide at the tailgate opening that way you can shove a four wheeler in the back of it what's the rear tire sitting on the tailgate and keep the wheelbase reasonable

Not everybody needs a full size truck with s*** mileage some people need hey truck that can hold 500 pounds in the bed and still get good enough mileage to daily commute long distances like the VW pickup the Rampage and hopefully this new Ford if they do it correctly it's a Ford Transit Connect how to pick up bed instead of a van body I would have already bought one

Exactly. If you run a business and need a fleet of 10 vehicles to haul car parts around you dont want to spend 40 grand on each truck because its turbo charged with 4 wheel drive, locking diffs, ass warmers, leather interior and built in wifi. You need cheap reliable trucks with a bed and a steering wheel, AM radio if you want to get really fancy.

The cheapest "trucks" made today are still grossly overloaded with standard features that jack the cost up and make them unrealistic for commercial delivery use.

My local parts warehouse all switched to using ford feistas as delivery vehicles because trucks are just too expensive. If you order and engine or transmission from them they have someone else deliver it. I think as long as they keep the courier bare bones and cheap itll be a big seller for people who put company logos on their vehicles...
