need engine trans coupling info

looking at a 90' ranger 4x4 2.9L, trying to find out if a mitsubishi 2.3 will fit the tranny. if another diesel somehow fits without an adapter plate id like to know

so would the transfer case also be integral to the transmission?

according to the tech info on this site its an fm146 mitsubishi tranny

No.

If it is a 90 it could go either way, FM146 or M5OD.
