I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
You're going to find very limited info on here about 4bt swaps. They arent common. The tech library has some pics on 1 in a first gen Explorer, Cummins_ranger has one in his 3rd gen Ranger, I'm working on 1 in my genII Explorer.

Use the search at the top of the screen and read all you can find here. Then head over to 4btswaps.com and read for another week (or more).

Do you think you can adapt the 4bt to the stock trans? :icon_rofl: You may be able to have a custom plate made and adapt it that way, but it wont last more then a few minutes. You need to start looking for at least a m5od-r2 from an f150 for a use with a dead stock 4bt. If you plan on turning up the power, find a ZF from a F250/350.

A VE pump 4bt 105hp puts out 265ft-lbs stock. A bigger turbo, injectors, and some tuning.. your over 400ft-lbs. A m5 isnt going to last behind that. Hell the ZF is only rated for 420 or 470, depending on which model you get.

If you keep the engine relativity stock (under 350ft-lbs) the M5od-r2 should hold up. If you want more power, youre going to need a better trans.
