I have a 1996 Ranger XLT 2.3L. I changed the gauge lights to blue LEDs. For months they worked fine. A few weeks ago the LED behind the 100MPH mark went out. I replaced it with a new LED today and when I drive home I notice its out. I think that it might be a metal pin contact problem, but I am not sure. Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

The bulb that I thought was blown, I could put it in another spot and it would work.

Good question.

My Fuel gauge light sometimes seems to be off. When I first installed it, the light did not turn on, but after testing high beems, it came back on. Another time, I entered a parking garage, and turned on my lights, and the fuel gauge was dark again.

I am also interested in a solution since I don't like to mess with the lights behind the cluster. If I had to guess, it's probably the bulb housing that is not making full contact.

I made the pins on the LED come out more. That fixed it for a while unless they got moved back in.
