Ranger 270 horse power = 1 cow power:icon_rofl:
JK but that negates the past 60 or more years of v8 and v6 sales
No replacement for displacement is what they used to tell me when we were building turbo civics in early 2000's. Now every car in the world comes with a turbo in line 4 banger.

To each his own.
USA is far behind. Most everything in Europe has been turbo for decades.
I don't understand the hate for the 2.3TT and a back seat. Can delete the back seat, so ? Can have a vinyl floor and plain cloth bucket seats supercab a lot like my 2002 except larger body and more capable. Can have a locker in rear on XL model. 7500 pounds tow rating isn't a slouch. Needs tow mirrors for option. Ford says TBC with tow package but isn't on build site yet.

I heard that a lot with my turbo Eclipse too. Ridalongs made a few believers though... and that was just with 200hp.

In Detroit I point blank asked them about an integrated brake controller for the Ranger like what is in the F-150. They said they were not planning to.

If they changed their mind maybe it is because of me. :D

I'm not hating on a back seat or turbo. I just don't want either one for MY truck. Family sedan sure give me turbo and leather and back seats and dual climate control and backup cameras and all the safety features you can think of, but for the love of God keep my truck a truck and put all those other features in an SUV or minivan

I like the back seat for tools, gun cases and dogs.

The pathetic V6 offerings by the competition highlights why I don't want one. No turbo but they are car engines stuck in a truck... like my old 2.8 or the 3.0. No power until wound tight.

The turbo 2.3 is awesome. 300Ft-lb at 3,000 RPM. No NA V6 comes even close to that while also having 270hp on the top end.

And you have mileage potential too.

Like the newer 4wd Tacos get about 17mpg highway. My 16yo 5.4 V8 F-150 gets 17mpg on the highway. Heck my 4bbl V8 brick of a Ranger with a 3spd automatic got 11.

I am really curious what the new Ranger will be capable of.

I am willing to bet the new Ranger will really shine in future years with another engine option and more body configs/wheelbases. Maybe the 3.0 diesel in a 4 door long bed. Maybe a Raptor trim. Maybe 6 trims like the F150. Currently 3 trims and 2 body/wheelbase configs.

Guys I`m going to buy my first car. My friend recommended Ford Ecosport. In my opinion, it looks not bad. Despite improved exterior, I'm a bit confused. New Ford is positioned as an SUV. Wat? It seems so small! Is it suitable for family trips? Does anybody know?

Yet another Ranger video. Interesting that he says the Lariat starts with a push button but all others are key start only. I assume he means a remote start on the key.

Mr Truck, or whatever his name was in the video, makes a damn good point though. The pricing comparison in Ranger vs F150...

On a side note, although very tiny, I really like the smooth look of that "sliding" back glass. I wish I could fit something like that into my 87 V8 truck. Just for the looks if nothing else.

Anyway, just thought you guys might enjoy another video of the new Ranger.

Lariats have push button start on the dash with fob close by. Lariat and above on F150.

Sliding back glass from a Bigfoot Ranger is even smoother and would fit your '87 :icon_idea:

Of course a Bigfoot Ranger is almost as common as the critter Bigfoot...

They lost me with manual reclining seats...

No wonder everybody is wanting push button start with that weapon of a key. :shok:

I saw one years ago at a salvage yard. It was a rusted/beat mess of a truck. Long gone today.. Almost all of them were exclusively in the midwest. I believe they were all sold from a dealer in St. Louis only.

I don't think all of them came with the "roll-down" rear glass though. Either that or people were buying the Bigfoot decals and putting them on trucks that weren't spec'd as an official Bigfoot Ranger, which seems likely. I've seen the Bigfoot decal sets listed as NOS on Ebay before.
