brake light/turn signal out

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had problems with the drivers side brake/turn signal light not working? I've already changed the bulb, and it still is not working. I am guessing that I have an electrical problem, but I do noy have much electrical experience on vehicles. Any ideas?
