Put in Monroe Air shocks? $90 a pair from O'Reillys,
would I need to swap out the front end with a ranger's first? Is there a more detailed build guide or...? ...Maybe someone could link a helpful youtube video? Beuller? Beuller?

I used front shocks from a ‘95 Dakota 2wd on my Ranger when it was lowered. They are roughly an inch shorter than B2 front shocks. Only issue is you have to push the bar pin out of the bottom eye and it takes a little effort to push them onto the lower mount stud on the radius arm. But they work and ride really nice on a lowered truck.

My truck had belltech 2” springs with one coil cut off. Roughly 4” drop. Never bottomed out the shocks or had any issues

Does that amount of drop still allow you to hop over an occasional curb every now & again?

A 2” drop would. 4” is pushing it with the old style trans crossmember.

This was a 2/4 drop on my truck

This was 4/6 or 7 with cut springs, drop hangers and longer shackles
