What price would it take for you to buy a new Ford Ranger?

I've read people complain about the cost of new vehicles, as well as their concern as to what the price is going to be for the new 2019 Ford Ranger.

So being realistic, and considering the price of new vehicles, what price range would you have to be able to get a new Ford Ranger in that would make you go down and buy one?

Please don't post unrealistic prices.

My credo
it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
28k for a 4x4

30 for a 4door

2wd worker bee....18k for a nice one 16k for a bare bones parts runner.

Break it right the first time. Fix it better the next time.

Depends on how much you would loan me.

I am genuinely uninterested in spending more than $3000 on any vehicle built after 1975.

Given the restriction of "realistic price" I guess you couldn't get me into a new Ranger.

I'd be interested if it were below 10k. Since it won't be, I'll be in the market in about ten years.

Unfortunately I've never had enough money for a new vehicle....so don't really have an idea of what they're worth.

Well...my first brand new Ford cost 3k and I was making $2.50 per hour. Now that I am retired, and only make about 10 times that, I would say $30k would be the Max that I would pay.

Truth.

That being said, Id say 15k for a true bare bones (2wd, steel wheeled, 2wd with a manual, nothing power, and a 7ft box) up to a loaded up platnium/lariat whatever theyll call it for max 35k.

Id be way more apt to buy one if theyd offer it with a 7ft bed, a manual, a real (TTB or Solid) front end, lockouts, and a decent low tech V6.

Just look at the pricing for new Colorados and you will have what the Ranger will cost. Anywhere from 32k to 40k depending on trim, options, etc. As for the right price to get me interested in buying one, I'd have to wait until the used versions are available for under 20k. And only if I have cash to pay for it at that point in time, no car loans thank you!

I think a XL/STX/FX4 crew cab with a 6' box (if it was an option I would go for it) for $30k would be a pretty good fairly realistic deal.

Sadly right now they would have to be beyond stupid cheap for me to run out and buy one. It has hard enough to keep the junk I have on the road let alone make a payment.

My Ranger has to have at least the 6' box; so that probably means supercab. 4x2 (while I like my 4x4, it just allows me to drive when I really shouldn't; real winter tires for 1/2 year/summer's for rest and I'll be will be fine). Lariat (or better), I'm old enough and well heeled enough to enjoy some gizmos (heated, leather seats, sound system). Ideally, with equivalent to HDPP/Trailer tow packages from F150. I want to be able to load my Adventurer 76R camper in back and hook up Jetski like I currently can.

I'm thinking low $30s Cdn.

i likely wont buy one that remains stock....only lease.(wifes) so a 45k price on the window wont be a deal breaker...

the one i will buy will be wrecked or the cheapest 4 door i can afford as i will have to modify to suit my requirements for a long term vehicle.

the main requirement is that i can fix it myself...:D

so major de-engineering :icon_welder:

I think the 20 grand mark is FAIR for a decently optioned truck. but it will probably cost 30 + to get one with Paint and wheels.

Wheels are a popular accessory for trucks nowadays. Greatly improves their versatility too. :icon_thumby:
