the deer here are getting to be a real problem,as i see they are elswhere too.it's not unusual to count 200 on the 95km stretch of highway from skidegate to masset,and i've hit 3 so far this year(no damage to the truck)but this is a new one.a turboprop airliner was on it's takeoff run from the masset airport when a deer ran onto the runway and into the left side prop.the deer was instantly cut in half,with the front half being thrown over the plane,the back half slammed to the ground.the takeoff was aborted,and no passengers were hurt,but the plane needed to have an engine and propeller replaced before it could take off.
there is a 15 deer bag limit for hunting right now,but i think they need to increase it.

theres at least 15 cars a year totalled from hitting deer here,which doesn't sound like a lot until you consider the population-4300 for the whole island chain.
