Welcome to TRS :)

Engine is running too warm.
What is the temp gauge at when you shut it off?

When you shut off any "water cooled" engine the water pump stops, but the cylinders (engine) are still hot, so without circulation the coolant in the heads(hottest part) expands more pushing open rad cap(14psi rating), if there was air at the top of the radiator(there shouldn't be) then that air will go into overflow tank and bubble up to the top.

So there are a few things at work here, air in the radiator after engine warms up, and engine running too hot

Had a similar problem...little to no coolant flow causing overheating and the bubbling you describe. Turned out the coolant was really old, radiator was clogged and the heater core/hoses were scaled and not getting any coolant flow.

Flushed the system a few times, installed new thermostat heater core and radiator. Runs great now.

What's your temp gauge reading?
