Hey - wondering if there is any way to get a 2011 disc brake rear axle with 2 ABS sensors to work in a 2008 truck (has one sensor on the top of the pumpkin).

Any help would be appreciated!

If you have the whole axle I think I would look at just swapping over the brake bracketry and such. It shouldn't be that hard. Take your shafts out, and then 8 bolts from each axle and you should be able to bolt all the disc brakiness to your existing axle.

Probably the easiest way to do it as it will leave all your existing sensors intact.

Tech library show the 2020-2011 axle tubes are 3.25" dia same as Explorers, brackets won't swap over?

This is part of the reason I want to swap the axle and not do a mustang disc brake swap!
Ill figure something out and report back!

Appreciate the reply. Looking for the larger axle tubes as well.
Will figure some way to get this going... Worst case, I'll drill and tap the pumpkin ?.

That may be about the only other option.

But for some reason I could swear that the later axle tubes necked down at the end.

I'll let you know soon enough, but specs for bearings listed for 2011 show the same bearing sizes as the explorer axles, so it shouldn't neck down.

28 spline 8.8 necks down.

31 spline 8.8 shouldn't neck down.

100% for the 2010-11?
Timken shows the exact same part #/specs for the 2011 Ranger rear wheel bearing as they do for the 2000 Explorer..

2010,2011 rear axle shafts are 28 spline but have the same big bearings as the 31 spline shafts.
the diff does not have a tone ring. there are tone rings on each axle shaft.
