Are we talking about the compressor here?

Hopefully your idea isn't on-board air... Cause It's been done thousands of times already.

If you are thinking about repurposing the blower motor that pushes air out of the vents, it is also your defrost and heater motor as well. (I don't think that you are mechanically un inclined, but just incase you are not aware of how the HVAC system works...)

If you have a spare blower motor and are going to redneck engineer something, cant help you there, but be sure to post pics :) (I like creativity)

Maybe he's going to use the fan as a windmill and the motor as a generator to make his truck a hybrid.

Leaf blowers with a flexible dryer tube hooked to the air intake work awsome, they come in 2 cycle gas or electric. Also you can make a bank of like 6 blow dryers, by turning on 1 through 6 you increase boost until your intake air temp is about 6000 degrees and your engine will produce more power than the sun.:D

My credo
JESUS Loves Ya!
No Men......what you do is verrrrry simple.....

you run a 2" diameter flexible duct from the A/C air distribution box through the firewall/past Grandma's house to the cold air intake......

for every 10 degrees F. that you lower the intake air temp....you gain 1 H.P. annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd 0.5 mpg increase in gas mileage.....

it's a win/win situation.....and completely undocumented ;missingteeth;

That's all I could think of but Ford already tested that a couple of years for the big trucks and tossed the idea as not fesible enough.

You do understand that any performance gains to be had by electric forced induction are negated by the extra drag from the alternator while it is producing the power to run the fan, right?

Also, electric forced induction just doesn't work. It has been proven often and thoroughly enough that believing that it will work should be ground for the immediate issue of a bicycle helmet and a sign.

90% sure your kidding, but just so the OP knows, it takes about 45hp to run the A/C compressor.

Unless that was supposed to be 4.5hp, 45hp isnt even close. 45hp is about 1/3 of what that engine produces.
