Not to long ago i came across a single tube roll bar on craigslist for $40. so i had to buy it lol. well anyway ive been cutting and welding on it the last couple of weeks in my free time and decided to get some fabrication pics up.

here is how it looked when i first got it

after cutting 4" off the bottom of each tube it was sitting very nice on my truck

i didnt like the fact it was bolted togeather so i got out the trusty little 110 MIG welder and started melting metal

added a piece of angle iron between the original light tabs to be able to mount a total of 4 (when i get money to buy them)

and as it is now waiting on some flat steel to make some bed mounts for it

ill post a finished pic once i get it all painted and mounted =)

I am gonna go get one out of an 88 ranger at my local JY. It is also bolted together, so looks like I got some :icon_welder: to do. and I was thinkin the same thing with the angle iron. Just wonderin, what kind of lights you going with?

havent decided on lights yet may go with some cheaper $25 100w sets due to lack of money then just swap them out for some KC daylighters.

also might put some oval red lights on the angle iron pointing to the back since ppl around here cant see reagular brake lights thats why i have this for my reciever pending some nice tow hooks to go on it

looks like it will be very functional for holding lights, i like your idea for the mounts too itll be easy to remove incase you decide you want a topper or tonneau cover for the winter months. what kind of lights are you going to be running? (EDIT) never mind, i looked back at the top of the thread and found the answer

you could always make a missle launcher mount between your lights to make it fit :D
