Hey everyone, got an 86 b2. SASd linked all the goodies up front but the rear has some nice wore out stock f150 leafs a stock lift block and bell tech shackles (its a tall rig). Anyways the front flexes like nuts but the rear could definitely use some extra articulation. My shackle angle right now while not awful, is not that great. I’d say it’s like a 20* angle. I’ve read up on boomerang shackles and people have said they help with articulation, but to me it seems they would offer no benefit beside helping to prevent shackle inversion if you had front leafs.

Just curious if anyone on here has ran Cherokee boomerang shackles and what your thoughts were and if they improve flex and ride quality before I go and move the mounts for the shackles. I was thinking about getting some xj shackle relocation brackets and making them work on the bronco.

Thanks for the input

Lol yeah the front flexes great, the rear has good up travel but down travel is not the greatest. It works, just trying to make it work better. And I know that my shackle angle is pretty slight, from what I’ve read you want like 35-45*

That’s all homemade greatness right there btw! Lol

Are you running a shackle flip, or is your shackle in the stock configuration?

Sorry, kind of fell off the face of the map. Stock shackle config.

flip the stock hanger and trim it out and weld it to that...

or some 4x4 box tube or something.

if you dont have a welder i would use heavy angle or box set to what ever angle rides best and bolt them to that with stout bushing washers.

i may back half my rig due to age/miles/rust, if i dont it will be under 3/8 or 7/16 4x4 or 4x5 angle bridged out. the angle will be part of another system.

not sure how i am doing the front yet...i am leaf front and rear. everyone is pushing me to coilovers.... i dont wheel enough crazy shit for that headache.
