Any such thing exist?

Just some way to get ford part numbers for NOS parts would be really nice.

I use ag companies websites all day, have nice pictures with a parts list below... no such thing for my Ranger. LMC is as good as I have found but they only give you their part numbers.

To the best of my knowledge there isn't anything exactly like that. The closest thing you might find is an old parts catalog from a dealership, but since those have been out of use for almost 20 years already I would say it is doubtful one will surface. Depending on the part sometimes RockAuto will have a listing with a Motorcraft number, but that requires the part still be available.

You can look thru this one: http://www.forelpublishing.com/demo/Demo20083.pdf
The whole book is $25

Part number decoder here: http://automotivemileposts.com/ford/fordpartnumbers.html

Ford part numbers have first year they were used and model it is for in the first numbers, so an 1985 part can be correct for a 1995 vehicle if it has never changed in those 10 years

The center number is the actual part number and will be the same across all models if used for same purpose.
i.e. 12A65 is the part number for Ford engine computers(PCM, EEC, ECM), vehicle model or year doesn't matter, thats in the first set of numbers, so a 1985 ranger will have a 12A65 computer, and a 2008 Fusion will have 12A65 computer, they do the same thing so have the same part number, but obviously they are not interchangeable, lol

last number or numbers denote a revision change so part was slightly modified but not enough to change Year code, revision A means no changes, revision E would mean there have been 4 changes since A, but......while it is accurate it isn't all inclusive.

I know how to decode the first part (engineering code). I was wanting to be able to look up stuff I don't know the part number for though.

That PDF is really cool. It is a dang awkward way to do things having everything clumped together though but if that is how they did it that is how they did it.

I was sure you knew about part numbers, that part was for newer members reading this thread.
