Nobody said it had to be about rocks. But rocks are funner because they require skill, driving technique, not just a matted throttle and big tires. Put a mud guy on the rocks and he doesn't know what to do. Put a rock guy in the mud and he knows exactly what to do, hammer down. This coming from a guy who did nothing but mud the first 4 years of his license. Anybody can build and drive a mud rig, not everybody can build and drive a rock rig. But to each his own, still a entertaining vid. :icon_thumby:

if ya think mud is all about just hammering it then u really dont know, there is ALOT of driver skill required in mud, throttle control is extremely important, we make fun of the guys here that go into the mud and just hammer the gas, becuase usually there the ones gettin stuck all day long

The Okechobee mud fest is awesome. There's a guy who lives near me with a huge Chevy on Rockwell axles and tractor tires that he takes down there. Cool video. My sig has a link for pictures of that event and others. Check it out.

Hammer down... and into the ditch/nearest tree you go. It takes more skill that most people think or you will cause about the same damage as you would on rocks with the same theory.

I am not building my truck to run on something that is two states away.

Dude had a pretty good bow wave most of the time. I like.

Any kind of driving has its own kind of skill associated with it. Rocks are slower and more predictable. Its easier to see a difficult line being driven. Mud is faster and you cant see what is going on through all of the mud. Idk if that makes any sense.

well, reason i posted this is because time and time again i hear on here that "u want to be as low to the ground as possible" without any regard for the purpose the truck is being built, now more people on here may be into rocks, but wheelin in mud is a completely different kind of wheel that requires a different kind of truck. u take a rock truck put it in the mud and it wont go very far, and vice versa, just build the truck for the terrain around you, for me its mud, lots of mud, i live in the pine barrens, which means NO ROCKS.....

hard

That looks like it's too hard on EVERYTHING but most of those trucks were probably trailered anyway so when they brake they can get em home.
Looks like fun on a hot day but the clean up must be a bitch.
