Hi all, while trying to get some aftermarket lights to work, I found this small black circular sensor. It is taped to the hood latch cable and was sitting in front of the radiator (not mounted - just lying there). I traced it back to the cab and the other end of the black wire appears to have broken - it is just hanging out around the parking brake pedal.

Its been this way forever and the truck seems to work fine. Any idea what it is? My truck is a 94, 4.0L 4x4 with an A4LD and electric shift BW1354. Thanks!

I poop in the furnace.
Did the truck ever have an aftermarket alarm or remote start system? Looks like it could have been a magnetic hood open sensor? Its definitely from some aftermarket gizmo.

Yes, +1 to above

Not a Ford sensor, 3rd party type, alarm would be best guess

Just pull wiring out
