Ok, long time reader, first time poster.

Went to fix what I thought was a quarter sized hole in my cab floor, and wound up with my entire floor and most of the part that mounts the cab to the frame on my driveway. Attached some gore photos.

So before I resort for looking for a cab, I'd like to try to repair this one first.

Planning on picking up a cab floor. Anyone know of someone who sells/makes a floor pan with the supports fabbed into it? Or, anyone in Pittsburgh that feels like fabricating one for a case of PBR? [emoji23]

Thanks all!

I haven't seen anything. I am doing the cab floor on my '85 right now and thankfully my support looked fine.

You need to pull the carpet and see how everything else looks. If the passenger floor is in the same shape you might be better off to to do a ctrl-alt-delete and start over with a different cab/truck.

Already did and done. Floors and surprisingly rockers, etc in the rest of the cab are perfect. Looks like there was a windshield leak years ago that was never corrected until recently.

Yeah, as it turns out, what I thought was the floor was the factory installed asphalt noise barrier shaped like a floor. Thought the road noise was becoming excessive.

Holy crap. I thought my 2001 from Ohio was bad. My 87 from Michigan/Indiana looks brand new compared to that.

Did you already replace the cab mount, because that sucker is COOKED. Done.

As for the floor pan, a simple Google search will find you one. They're two separate pieces, passenger and driver..

Oh, and as a general rule, when you find a pin-hole (literally pencil lead sized) the rust on the other side of the panel, that needs cut out, is usually at least the size of the palm of your hand.

And that is a geometric progression as the actual perforation. gets larger.

I'd be looking for a different cab to replace that with.
These trucks are not yet exactly rare in junkyards, finding a cab for cheap should be pretty easy I would think.

Moved to Exterior, since this post pertains to the body structure itself.
