Hey guys, I am having a problem finding a lower radiator hose that works.

The lower radiator hose and the power steering box want to take up the same location. I currently have a hacked up hose with a piece of galvanized pipe and a bunch of hose clamps right now, but after driving around for about 45 mins this weekend, it is already starting to leak a little. I'd like to fix this, and was wondering what others have used. The motor is a 97, and I am running a v8 explorer radiator with clutch fan. I am not sure of the year of the radiator. I will try to confirm this, and update

I have tried one from a 2001 ranger, 1997 Explorer, and one from a 1994 ranger, all of which do not work.

What are the ones you all use? I know some of the later explorer 5.0s run that pump that has the 2 short hoses, but that too would want to take up the same place as my power steering box, so going that route wouldn't work. I seen in one of the other posts that a lower hose off a 2001 explorer has worked in that person's setup, so I will start with that one, and provide an update

My setup is completely different but I just use a plain ol' flex hose.

Thanks gents. Did either of you run into a problem with the different sizes in the water pump outlet and the lower radiator hose inlet?

This was the solution I was thinking of too, just wasn't sure about the different sizes

Yeah, I was able to find a flexhose with the right sized ends, you can get different ones.
