Having a CB for years I have never had a good place to mount the mic. I always laid it on the seat or center consul. Now that I have my HAM license and plan on adding a second radio to the truck I needed to add a way to store the mics. Looking around the truck I decided just below the radio would be the best spot.

Some measuring and a bit of time on the computer I drew up a bracket and cut it on my plasma table. A few bends and welds and this s what I had.

Here it is temporarily mounted with some tape to double check everything.

I drilled a few holes and used pop rivets to hold it in place. Until I get a vehicle mounted ham it will hold my hand held as well.

I've been on many forums for many different vehicles. This place's tech section shows its brains ahead of the other guys. Stuff like this and being the guy who made the brackets for in front of the seat show the skills.

Very nice work sir. Nicely thought out and executed.

Did two short wheeling trips this week. I am happy with how it worked. A few small rubber bands or an o ring on the back of the mic might hold it better on the big hits. Overall extremely happy with how it works.
