2.9 is gone. All the wiring is pulled to the side. I have the Duraspark and engine wires for the 351(5.8 H.O. 4v-came from an 85' e150)
Question is, what do i do with the ECM and wiring for the 2.9 that comes from the right side? Wires consist of starter cables, starter solenoid, lighting wires and sockets, relays, and so on.
I know the function of the ECM is for the engine electonics on the 2.9 but the lighting and starting is throwing me of. Any help will be appreciated.

Well what I did was remove the ECM connector and pull it thru the firewall, then removed all the wiring and goodies that it attached to it. I found that the harness could be removed and had no effect on the rest of the needed functions, like starting, guages, alternator, wipers, heater etc.
The truck I just finished started out as a 2.3L 88 so yours should be the same.
