Just started last year gathering parts and everyting else and still need more parts but iv got to start some where so here goes.

Motor 302 stroked out to 331,144ci blower, SFI billet bell housing, Tremec TECT 1377 Road Racing TKO ll , and 2 8.8 explorer rear ends.

Got the wheels in so i can get started on the Narrowing of the Rear (5 1/2") and the front too(1/2") to get the big wheels so they wont rub.

Pulled the stock motor and trans to get an idea on the sifter position and i have ordered a mid shift kit so the shifter will aligain back up .

The 302 block has a busted cylinder wall so i am using this as a mock up set up with nothing in the bell housing.

I have installed this 3 times, cut the fire wall out and might have to cut some more, and now have made motor mounts to position the motor back and down to help with weight.also center of gravity.

Nice project sir!! :icon_thumby:
I've had a V-ate Ranger project with a twin-screw sticking through the hood in my skull for a while now, cool to see it with an extended cab!
Care to share what kind of wheels those are? I'm liking those!

I like it interested in the wheels and suspension myself. I cut my 8.8 down just the normal 2.5" . Are you running custom axles? how much have you cut the firewall? I ended up having to cut the trans tunnel as well but also running t56. But seeing your SFI bellhousing next to stock i think i may have to go back in at some point if i swap to one as mine was TIGHT. crossmember at all? Hope to see more pics along the way.

The wheels are Rovos 18" Durbans. Just wait till i get to the rotors. I,m going to make hubs to hold the 13 or 14" mustang rotors. Iv got a lot planned for this build but not much custom body work. And if you plan on doing and kind of racing you should use the SFI bell housing to keep you legs on. Enemy im trying to keep every thing under the hood.

The rear end is 3" narrower than the Explorer and these wheels add 2.5" wider too so the axle will get 1" passenger side and 4.5" on driver to center the differential .

I will show Pictures as i go to maybe help some others who might wont to build there's this way.

Whats the intent for the front suspension besides brakes you've mentioned? Keeping twin I beam or swapping a a arm setup?

The I beams under this truck are TrailMaster lowered beams made of square tubing. I bought the beams back in 1988. I think with these and a good set of Afco fully adjustable shocks it should work good. And going to 4 link the beams from rotating as much.

New parts finally and getting ready to start building the frame. Ride height will be the factor for the frame.5" off the ground or 7" and then modifying the fenders wells to accept the wheels.

My credo
$hit Happens
This would be my dream build !! Nice wide meats to keep the power to the pavement, lowered and a lower COG, and plenty of power throughout the power band, will make this thing a real canyon carver ! Can't wait to see the final product !!!

So the front end is a Killer Corner custom kit and i'm going to change the upper Arm mounts to RST to have more adjustment. The Rear is getting a RST 3 Link and 5" Watts link. Body work in going to be shorten the bed 12.5" and Raise the Fender wells 6.5" so at that time i am going to try to widen the fender wells out at least 1.5" then add adapters to the back axle to get it as wide ad the front or wider.
