I put a manual trans computer into my bII, I did it because I wanted a mass airflow computer, for cheap 65 bucks for sensor and computer, now everything works good except no overdrive, the wiring diagram shows 2 solenoids a 3/4 shift solenoid and a tcc solenoid. Will a newer shift lever with a switch fit a 1990 bII, also will it hurt anything to ground both solenoids at the same time?

Couldn't wait for answer have to drive on freeway tomorrow. The shifters with the button won't work for this, they are a momentary contact switch, would have to keep the button pressed down to make it work. I wired both the solenoids to 1 switch, test drive ok. Time will tell if it hurts anything, but with an a4ld with close to 200,000 miles it would be hard to say what hurt it.
