My tach has been inoperative since i resurrected my car from years back and id like to have a tach again.

Any links to the wiring of said tach? it worked fine, sat for years and never worked again so im assuming its something simple

What exactly isn't it doing? Not moving at all or going up to the 2-3k mark and staying?

I would pull the tachometer module from the cluster and re-solder the contacts on the back. This era is prone to heat stress causing poor connections and solder joint breakage.
