I'm looking for the factory procedure to set the throttle stop screw on a 3.0 vulcan engine.

Did you mess with it, or are you thinking of messing with it.

If you didn't already don't.

If you did, well, I can look it up tomorrow, but they usually tell you to not mess with it.

I agree, this is not a "user setting", why do you think you need to adjust this?

It is not an "idle screw" like a carburetor used, there are no jets on a fuel injected engine.

With engine warmed up completely, and idling, unplug IAC valve, idle should drop to 500rpm, if engine stalls, adjust screw to open throttle slightly then plug IAC back in and restart engine, repeat procedure.

With IAC valve unplugged rpm should not be higher than 600.

Unhook battery for 5 minutes to reset computer, or if you have an OBD reader reset computer, computer will need to relearn TPS(throttle position sensors) low voltage settings.
It will do that if reset.

With the throttle plate screw properly adjusted, you should have .90 -.96 volts on the TPS signal wire (connected, key on, engine off, backprobed into the plug or pierce the wire).

There is actually a procedure to set most of them, if you know how to find it. The problem is that it is dicey to do without the extremely rare calibrated orifice tool that you put in place of the PCV.

I had to do it on my Ranger once after a TB cleaning messed things up. Then I had to do it 3 more times until I got it right.

Google "base idle reset".

It was changed when the truck was running poorly. Now that I have made repairs and done maintenance work I need to reset idle speed. Thanks for the help.
