I haven't got a whole bunch more done, but I did add some spacers between the two tubes on the sides of the bumper

also added some lights behind the bumper where they should be protected

also had some fun in the mud

Tried to go thru in 2wd, but got high centered on my diff so I had to get out and lock the hubs...
and the aftermath...

Finally washed it

I also added a couple more lights to the bumper. Doesn't look so good in this picture, but I think they look pretty good.

The only thing I worry about is not having enough air flow for the radiator. I guess Ill just have to wait until summer to see if its a problem...

picked up a 78/79 hp d44 1/2 ton a little while back.

Almost complete except that its missing most of the components outside of the knuckle on the drivers side. One of my friends happens to have just done a SAS on his dodge dakota, and opted for 3/4 outers, so he had a few goodies lying around

that was most of the parts I need, except for bearings, brakes, caliper, hub, and lockouts, but bearings and brakes I would have replaced anyway while Im doing the swap, so not too bad of a deal.
Thus, the great collection of parts begins...
The SAS definitely wont be happening immediately, or even very soon for that matter. Goal would be by the end of the summer, because I am leaving for school, but it will probably more likely happen come winter break.

Pulled the bumper off and painted it. I'm pretty happy for how the bumper came out, seeing as that was my first real experience with a tubing bender.

(Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic, I can get out a real camera and take a better picture if anyone wants)

I swear that pictures make it look bigger than in person, and it really doesn't obstruct your view from in the truck all that much, and it doesn't stick out from the front too bad. If anything I think it helps in parking lots because I can see EXACTLY how far out the front of my truck sticks out.

Schools been busy, so I haven't got much done. I did whip up some spring spacers though, so I could fix my alignment since when I put the bumper and winch on, it dropped the front enough that the camber was too far negative to fix.
I had some tubing lying around, so I built my own variation of the common washer spacers.

Just two 1" washers welded to the top of a piece of 1.75" .120 DOM I had lying around, then I tack welded the spring mounts to the spacer just so it wouldn't move around. Full length of the spacers ended up at 1.6"
I also put some explorer leaves in the rear, so now I actually have some positive arch to them.

It doesn't look that much taller, but it is just enough, and is noticeable getting in and out. First picture is before lift, second is after.

(no the front spring is not as bowed as it looks in this picture)
I also got a different fairlead, as you can see in the last picture.
Im not sure completely about how much I like it, but someone gave it to me so I figured it was worth a try.

On another note, had to clean the whole thing up real nice

because the truck had its most important cargo yet

not your typical prom date...

When I took my girlfriend to prom last month, I made her sit on the filth in my explorer along with deal with the stench of spilled gear oil. Tell your girlfriend she's lucky!

Thanks man, I really appreciate it!
Yeah, I want to put a hook at the top of my stinger, as well as two D-rings on either side of the fairlead. I also need to get a new hook. The one that is on there is just a temporary thing.

Haha shes not actually my girlfriend, just a friend who needed a date for her senior prom...
I figured I needed to clean my truck anyway, and I didn't want to ruin her dress, so I just bit the bullet and cleaned it. Only took me two days
