I have a '97 ranger, and am lifting it 2'' over christmas break....i want some new shocks in it cause i just have stock shocks. What would be a somewhat cheaper shock selection that would perform well for really softcore offroading, and driving every day.

i'd wait til you get the lift on. check out jcwhitney.com.....i was lookin at gettin some 2 inch lift shocks from them, still am, and they had them for $25 a piece. seemed cheap to me, they probably arent great, but i have a horrible ride right now as it is.

when you say 2'' lift shocks you mean shocks that are accommodated for a 2'' lift, or shocks that provide a 2'' lift

when i got my 4in lift from rough country for my yota i put the shocks they sent me on 3 days before the lift went on and the only difference i noticed was it was really bouncy it was smooth till i went over a bump then i started to bounce like no ones bussiness so you could put them but be ready for some bumps.
p.s. i now know why they are called rough country!!!!!!

Anyone know if F150 shocks from the wrecker would do the trick? I just put in a 2" leveling kit in my 95 ranger supercab 4x4 4.0.

Any info about if the mounts are the same (no mods) or if length would be increased by 2". I've also heard that wrangler shocks could possibly give me what I'm looking for.
