OK, I've searched and searched and found some info on this, but not everything I need. I have an 84 Ranger 4x4 with the 2.8 and 5spd and the 2.8 isn't sounding to good lately. I have a line on a 2.3 turbo and 5spd out of an 88 Turbo Coupe and was thinking this would be a cool swap. I've found a YouTube vid where a guy managed to get one in his BII, but there are a few details left out.

Anyone have a link or a direction to point me? I've been reading that I likely won't be able to use the T-5 in a 4 wheel drive application, but if I could get the 4 banger to work, that would be great.....and as most people want, the cheaper way to make this happen, then better! lol

You will need the complete engine harness and fuel tank swap for the fuel return line. Does the 2.8 have the duraspark conversion? If not it will likely bring that engine back to life with alot less work and $.

Ya, I actually reset the valves again. I did it about 1000 miles ago, it was sounding like it was going to come apart. Is it normal for a 34 year old engine to need valve sets that often? Sounds better now though. And ya, I did the duraspark last winter.

I’m still intrigued buy the turbo four though....maybe for something else though.

He may not need an entire fuel tank. On the V8 swap in my originally carbed 87 2.0 Ranger, I just swapped the sending unit for a fuel injected sending unit. Put in a high flow Mustang fuel pump and wired it up. Works flawlessly.

it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
return line can be done in a myriad of ways. mount a fuel pump with your current setup on the rail for hp....though i would rather just run a stang single in tank.
