My friend has a 2005 F-150. It has been sitting for 4 years. We put a freshly charged battery, or at least what I was told, in it and all you could hear was the relay click. We swapped around the fog light relays with the PCM/starter relay, because they are the same and nothing. It will not even turn over. I jumped the starter solenoid and it just spun the bendix did not engage. I know the starter is going to need to be changed.

What else do I need to be looking at? Maybe anti-theft? PCM issue?

I would try to roll the engine over by hand to ensure it isn't stuck. Then try tapping the starter with a hammer while cycling the key to the start position. I think I would be concern with 4 year old gas too.

Itll run on 4 yr old gas. Maybe not well, but itll run. Id wack the starter good, i doubt the engine itself is locked up, ive had them still be free after many more then 4 years.

If the relay is clicking then it shouldnt be a anti theft issue, i believe those wont even let it click. I would also check for corrosion on the wires, thats most likely the issue.
