You would be a trailblazer on that one. If you get it to work you would be legendary.

I am sure it can be done. That car does not contain all the parts needed.

The F150 was the only longitudinal application of that engine so far, so you will need a transmission. And even on the V6s the 6R80 trans is HUGE. So you will need a body lift.

It will be much easier to drop the cash on a MotorSport tracpac stand-alone control system than trying to graft the Taurus wiring into your Ranger.

Engine mounts will probably need to be custom made, same for driveshaft(s). Exhaust will be all wrong, as will the intake duct work and manifold.

And those are just the things I can think of without trying.

Well, anything is possible; you could put any engine into a Ranger if you had the determination, money and skills to do it.

You know what they say....

If I fits, I sits.

If a 460 fits so does a 3.5, it is just all about how bad you want to make it sit.

well...got close to it.

some years back when i first moved back home to detroit one of my old customers had a ripping ford flex his grandson wadded up for him...his insurance didnt really cover drivers under 25 or 40 or something...so the dispute wasnt looking good and he figured it would be a suitable replacement for the aging 351 in his kit cobra...

i did a efi 351 build for him in a old 80's pos kit car that sat crated for 15 years before i got involved.....it was 96 or 97 or so iirc...and not a common thing at that time. for todays standards its downright nutless...

eventually the insurance company actually took care of it right as i was digging into the vehicle and it did not happen. i was getting busy, and have been since then, so i was both relieved and sad to not learn more...

but putting that into a chassis similar to a 2wd ranger with a nv5600 is definitely not some groundbreaking thing. they are out there...mostly fullsize truck swaps. but old cars are getting them these days as well.

there are many differences between the front and rear drive engines where doing a swap to replace a blown engine real quick or something from a stock f 150 to taurus would suck ass and not be feasible...

but nothing a custom application like this needs too much worry..your better off with a 150 engine for sure because re plumbing the east/west application may be a unneccessary kick in the balls...

but for that price.... i think i can take a few kicks in the balls...

quicktime built their original bell housings based on the lincoln block back when the cyclones debuted.
