hey so ive been throwing around the idea of a swing out tire carrier on my ranger....by using one from a BII. How exactly do the tire carriers attach to the BII's ? is it just bolts?

A B2 tire carrier would bend the hell out of a Ranger bed.
The B2's body is reinforced where the tire carrier bolts up.

Long story short, good idea but bad idea.
Better off with a bumper mounted swing out, like what 4x4Junkie has on his B2.

on my old ranger I used one from a B2. I used a big piece of sheetmetal to reinforce the bedside. on the top pivot bracket there is an ear you have to cut off, youll see which one, and just have a friend help hold it up to align and drill the holes for it.

i love the first one so much!

however, the site says they are for f150's?

i want something like this because i want my spare to be more accessible than it currently is now underneath my truck. and i don't want that bolt to be rusted shut again if i need my spare..

Hey yeah I had looked into those, and like them but then i lose my tailgate. Annnnnddd if you look into them, theyre like 700-800$ a piece. Im looking to spend a lot less than that.

what is a safe smart way to secure my tire to my bed? no hijack... as this somewhat is relevant to your topic.

you should document the whole process and put it in the tech library... or at least send it to me haha.

I built one 2 years ago. Cost me 56 bucks for 21 feet of tube, and like 4 bucks in springs for the latch/hinge mechanisms.

It opens in either direction, and is reversible.
