Anthony Jackson's

1987 Ford Bronco II 4x4

Drivetrain:

It has a rebuilt 2.9L V-6, with a K&N replacement filter, Bosch platinum plugs, Accel coil, wires, cap, rotor, and TFI module. A new y-pipe, free flow cat, 2 1/4" turbo muffler, and exhaust finish it off. The rest of the drivetrain is stock including the 5-speed tranny, electronic transfer case, driveshafts, and auto hubs.

Suspension:

The suspension was lifted 1 1/2" in front with Rough Country spacers and 2" in back with blocks and shims. Superlift alignment bushings were added to correct the camber. This allows just enough clearance for 30x9.5-15 Uniroyal Laredo MT's mounted on 15x7 American Racing Pioneers with 4 1/2" backspacing to stuff without rubbing. I added new Gabriel SVT shocks with 2" longer than stock. They are a little soft but work well on the trails.

Exterior:

Outside, the lower body was redone; removed rust, and spray painted including undercoating around the wheel wells, lower door skin, and rockers. Chrome pinstriping finished it off. The rear hatch was replaced with a lift glass model and a spare tire carrier added with a back-up light. 100 watt driving lights were grafted into the grille, and all-weather lights mounted to the bumper. The rear receiver and front tow hooks aide in unfortunate incidents (stucks).

Inside, the carpet was removed and the floor was undercoated. A CD player and 2 8" Blau's subs pushed by an 80 watt amp pump the bass, while Jensen's replaced the front and rear stock speakers. A console was inserted between the seats, and a panel added for the CB and light switches.

Future Plans:

Plans include 2" lift (body or suspension), new springs, 32x11.5-15 Interco SSR's, flares, rear locker, and custom bumpers with winch.
