We know there are just
as many people out there that like to run their 2wd's off-road as
those with 4x4's.
We've put together a
list of company's offering kits for Ford Rangers.
For
1983-1997 2wd Ranger's
Autofab
1983-1988 Ford Ranger 2WD Econo Lift:
Early
Ranger 2wd truck with forged beams and ball joints. These replace
the stamped steel beams in early production. Ball joints are good
used and beams have new pivot bushings installed. New ball joints
are additional. $300 core charge, not included in price, applies on
kits sent out with no exchange. Beams and radius arms are core
exchange for good usable condition parts. If any ball joints are bad
there will be a fee to replace. Beams are aligned for 4" lift
and Radius arms are modified to correct castor alignment. When
ordering with new ball joints installed your beams can have bad or
no ball joints sent back for no extra fee. 4 inch lift coil springs
included. Shocks and brake hoses not included. Note: Early
production Ranger beams were stamped steel and are not serviceable.
If you have one of these trucks you will upgrade to forged beams.
Autofab
1989-1994 Ford Ranger 2WD Econo Lift:
For
1989-94 Ranger 2wd trucks with the cast beams. Spindles have the
ball joints on these years. Beams are aligned for 4 inch lift and
will have new pivot bushings installed. Radius arms are modified for
castor alignment and bolt back in like stock. 4 inch lift coils
included. Shocks and brake hoses not included. Beam and radius arm
core fee of $300 not included in price. If you send your beams and
radius arms to us no core fee will be charged.
Autofab
1995-1997 Ford Ranger 2WD Econo Lift:
For
1995-97 Ranger 2wd beam trucks. These beams look the same as 89-94
beams but the pinch bolt for the upper ball joint eccentric is
reversed to clear the newer front antilock spindles. You cannot use
earlier beams with these spindles. Although you can put earlier
spindles on these beams. Beams are aligned for 4 inch lift and new
pivot bushings are installed. 4 inch lift coils included. Shocks and
brake hoses are not included. Beam and radius arm core fee of $400
not included in price. No core fees if you send us your beams and
radius arms.
Autofab
1983-1997 Ford Ranger 2WD Middle Of The Road Kit:
Upgrade
your Autofab econo lift with race quality tubular radius arms,
hangers, and 2 additional cross members. Order your choice of Econo
lift and then order this package for the middle of the road complete
kit. Grade 8 hardware and radius arm bushings included. One cross
member bolts in where the original one mounted. A second cross
member is a fit and weld unit that ties the radius arm pivot
brackets together. Due to exhaust clearance and frame variations
this must be done at the time of installation. We have deducted the
price of the modified stock radius arms with this pricing. Note:
Bolt on front shock mounts in picture are not included. They are
part of a wheel travel kit.
Autofab
1983-1997 Ford Ranger 2WD Wheel Travel Kit:
Autofab
16 inch wheel travel kit for 1983-97 Ranger 2wd trucks. Kit includes
middle of the road 4 inch lift foundation and custom coil bucket
assemblies for long travel shock mounting. Kits sold in exchange for
beams, core charge not included in price. Optional rod ended radius
arms shown in 3rd picture. Works with stock steering. Setup is for 2
Fox racing shocks per wheel. We can provide shocks if you like for
additional cost.

Skyjacker
kits come with new heavy duty drop brackets, dropped pitman arm, 4-6
inch coils and either rear blocks, add-a-leafs or springs. You

case / transmission crossmember and order new brake lines.
The
Skyjacker 2" lift kit includes front coils and rear
add-a-leafs.
The
4" & 6" Class I lifts include coils and all
drop bracketry. Kits use rear blocks and/or add-a-leafs and Systems
use rear leaf springs.
The
Class II kits and systems are available for 4" and
6" lifts and include a pitman arm, sway bar end link &
replacement tubular offset radius arms extended 15" longer than
stock offering up to 30% more wheel articulation and less frame
fatigue than using radius drop brackets. Newly designed center hinge
brackets are both stylish and more rugged than stock or standard
applications.

|
For
1983-1997 2wd Ranger's
New
pre-set coil springs provide lift. Superlift uses new axle pivot
brackets, laser-cut from .25” steel plate, to lower the inboard
ends of the axle beams and restore camber. New camber alignment
bushings, available from your Ford dealer or local alignment shop,
may be needed to precisely “dial-in” camber angle. Caster angle
must also be addressed. Caster correction is handled by your choice
of either lowering the stock radius arms at their frame (rear) end
attaching points, the route taken with their Standard Series system,
or by replacing the stock radius arms entirely with their extended
length Superunner Long-Arm radius arms.
The
Standard Series method replaces the factory radius arm brackets with
longer brackets laser-cut from .25” plate steel. The Superunner
Long-Arm radius arms offer caster correction plus additional
benefits. The arms are considerably longer than stock, and increase
the amount of usable bind-free suspension extension travel. This
makes it easier for the tires to travel independently and stay in
contact with the road or trail surface. The longer arms also reduce
the degree of caster change the vehicle experiences as the
suspension goes through its travel cycle. These factors combine to
improve overall driveability and ride quality. You’ll experience a
noticeable difference both on- and off-road.
They
offer two different products to correct steering linkage angle; on
most lifted TTB Fords simply installing their dropped pitman arm
alone will result in satisfactory steering characteristics. The
dropped arm, used in conjunction with their industry award winning
Superunner steering linkage upgrade, delivers optimum steering
traits. Superunner Steering System Even in stock form, the Ford TTB
steering seems somewhat vague. On off-camber or less than ideal
driving surfaces, it takes continuous corrective steering input to
keep the vehicle pointed straight. When the vehicle is raised, these
inherent tendencies are magnified, creating two areas of concern: 1)
Minimizing tie rod angles, 2) Keeping the tie rods’ arc of
movement in phase with the axle beams’ arc of movement. These two
factors “make or break” driveability. When this geometry is
incorrect, it causes excessive toe-in / toe-out variations as the
suspension travels, resulting in the TTB Ford version of
“bump-steer”. Superlift offers two methods to correct steering.
Their dropped pitman arm reduces some of the additional steering
linkage angle created by the increased ride height. Their pitman
arm, used with their Superunner replacement steering linkage system,
addresses both problems. The new steering system uses a centerlink
to further reduce tie rod angles, and the new tie rods are more
proportional in length to the axle beams. The result is steering
linkage that is more in phase with the suspension.
The
most popular and least expensive method of rear lift is via blocks.
Add-a-leafs, and different height blocks are available for all
applications; most applications have replacement rear spring options
available as well.
They
offer 2wd kits from 3.5 - 5 Inches
