I'm sure you did yours well. Mine is ziptied since I installed it right before the last wheeling trip.
Yes, it is mounted with brackets and is not going anywhere.

Ive only copied you on doing a D30 SAS, and trackbar mount...whats one (or more) thing going to hurt????

Have to say looking nice so far.
You can copy my ideas as much as you want. Some of mine came from others anyways.

Some work done on the bumper. Went to get the tubing, cut it up to the lengths I needed for each piece. Went to my friends that runs a fabrication shop and got to work. Spent most of the time discussing ideas and then started bending.

Here is what was done. The pics suck. Sorry.

My next day off is Wednesday. Hopefully be.able to finish it then.

Here is what I got done today...

Cut the coil retainer off the axle...

Then welded this plate to it....

Then welded the coil retainer on top of the plate, it's now centered on the axle...have the shock mount welded on too...

Painted....

All put back in, looks much better now.

Before

After

Only took me 6 hours. Take it for a drive tomorrow and see how it does.

I also welded some skid plates to the lower control arm mount. I'll have to take a pic of it tomorrow
Thanks a lot for this pictures.
This will save me from lots of trouble when i start working on mine, since i have to relocate those coil retainers like 2" closer to the dif pumpkin, and now i know i must center them in order to have the axle centered and to avoid issues with the coils.

Thanks bud. :icon_thumby:

Nice job on the tube. Thats gonna turn out nice.

Did you have to clearance/cut your engine crossmember at all when you did your SAS?

In this truck since it was originally a 2wd. But on the 89 it was already a 4wd that had the cut out for the diff already, didn't need to do any clearancing. But the 89 also had more lift than the 93.

Well, my buddy is just way to busy with other customer project at the moment. So unless I can find someone else that has a tube bender I can use, this won't get done till next week.

Maybe I should just buy my own bender.

If I was going to use a tube bender a lot, make things like a cage and sliders etc....then I could justify spending the $400+ on a JDM2 bender. But, since I know 2 people that have one, I can just wait to get it done. My brothers friend has one but I dont really know him well enough to go use his stuff.

My buddy has a JDM4 hydraulic bender that's all computerized. Just use Bend tech for the design, put the tube in the bender and just hit enter. It does all the rest. It's a cool setup.

Had to stop and pick up my son from school. So this is the stopping point for now.
